As the Manager - Airbus Acceptance, you will be located at the Airbus manufacturer's production facilities in Europe, actively participate/ contribute to Aircraft Systems Maturity/Design Review meetings to objectively assess readiness of the aircrafts to reliably operate at Emirates' planned entry into service date. Responsible for overseeing the production of Emirates Airbus aircraft, ensure on time delivery and to the correct specification, including all Emirates customizations. When based in Dubai, support the Engineering Project department in all aspects of aircraft definition and procurement.
In this role, you will:
Represent Emirates in Design Review meetings and Aircraft Systems Review meetings held at the airframe manufacturers facilities - primarily in Toulouse and Hamburg for the Airbus program, and at other locations when required.Review and assess the development testing methods, criteria, assumptions used by the manufacturer to demonstrate system integrity, reliability and maturity. Challenge and influence the manufacturer where testing is considered to be inadequate. Systems review includes all primary mechanical and avionic systems required to operate the aircraft including - but not limited to - electrical, hydraulic, fuel, water, waste, air conditioning, landing gear, flight controls, IFEC, cockpit avionics, servers, oxygen, safety equipment, cabin interiors etc.Represent Emirates' interests by communicating concerns and/or suggestions in Meeting Forums or directly to AirbusManagement at the necessary level up to the Chief Operating Officer.Provide regular objectives and well-balanced written and verbal communication to Emirates' Senior Management (up to PEKA) on the status of aircraft systems testing and development. Communicate in a timely manner any issues that may hazard the ability of the aircraft to operate reliably by the time of Emirates' planned in service date.Manage a team of Emirates' inspectors engaged in conducting all mandatory Customer Inspections of the aircraft as specified in the Airbus Acceptance Procedures together with any other inspections that may be deemed appropriate.Negotiate the contractual aircraft delivery `Commitment Letter' for each Airbus aircraft and ensure that any identified quality defects or deviations to specification are clearly itemised and suitable technical / commercial remedies are in place to completely mitigate such shortfalls.Ensure that all features specified by Emirates through change request (SCN/ MC/RO) and prior customization exercises are applied on aircraft.Work in close co-operation with EK Engineering, Emirates Legal, Finance, Treasury, Flight Operations and Inflight Services departments to ensure that all relevant arrangements are in place to allow aircraft Transfer of Title and Ferry flight to occur on contractually agreed dates.Manage the acceptance and quality control of Buyer Furnished Equipment received at Airbus productions facilities. Ensure compliance with Emirates specifications/ contractual obligations and that equipments fully and correctly function when installed in the aircrafts.Provide weekly report to main base on the progress of aircrafts production and delivery. Ensure regular communication is maintained with main base on any updates, challenges, concerns.
