About the Internal Audit Group at American Express
Our Internal Audit Group is a worldwide function with 300+ team members and offices across nine countries within American Express. Our mission is to protect and enhance organizational value by providing independent, objective, risk-based assurance, advisory services and to influence the way the company manages risk.
We are committed to growing our audit staff significantly as we continue to expand and enhance the Internal Audit Group. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies.
Role Objective:
The Manager Assistant will join the Internal Audit Group to support key growth, communication, and colleague initiatives across IT, Third Party, Cyber, Global Servicing Group, Retail Banking and US Consumer.
Responsibilities:
Provides project management support and coordination across a wide range of projects, supporting a diverse set of stakeholders including senior leaders. Audit capacity and resource management, including: Report on the capacity status (resources, schedule) Present to audit leaders on capacity status (i.e., resource/capacity challenges and solutions) Identify and coordinate annual plan & resource schedule changes when necessary Lead Colleague Initiatives for leader/team + participate in IAG Wide initiatives. Works with the leadership team to align organizational priorities, drive cross-functional strategic initiatives, and ensure delivery against goals, with an emphasis on setting the agenda to driving flawless execution. Develop materials for town halls, and communications for the team (reference the bullet the 2 below – note to include calibration/goal setting Assist in developing and delivering the strategic agenda including supporting capacity management, and budget. Work in collaboration with the Executive Office on Department Wide Initiatives Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Be a champion of the Internal Audit Group Minimum Qualifications: Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks, excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and with highly sensitive and confidential material Presentation/Excel background Strategic thinker who is Highly motivated, and a self starter Professional demeanor with strong communication skills, both verbal and written with demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and be flexible when faced with changing priorities Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate across functions and band levels, manage stakeholders, influence decisions and drive results Bachelor’s degree Hybrid role - Work in office for 3 days/week Preferred Qualifications Experience working in or with the Internal Audit Group (Preferred Qualification) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Preferred Qualification)

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
