The Position

Manages high complexity compliance activities for the assigned affiliate in the assigned division. Evaluates existing and evolving healthcare and privacy compliance, ethics and related legislation and regulations and other marketplace/industry dynamics to determine requirements for Roche policies and procedures. Recommends new or updated compliance policies and procedures, including specifying actual or potential implications to existing business operations and practices. 
Authors new or updated policies and procedures for internal partner and stakeholder input. Prepares and delivers communication and training materials/sessions to educate others on the evolving compliance landscape and potential new or updated policies and related changes. 
 Helps others interpret laws and regulations correctly and ensure consistent adherence. Advises Roche global partners on local changes or other evolutions and the affiliate's strategy and plan to address these. As assigned, manages and completes internal and external reporting regarding the affiliate's healthcare, privacy, ethics and related compliance. Responds to complex inquiries and provides guidance and advice on compliance and resources to support business operations, team and individual adherence. Where observed, escalates actual or potential compliance violations or other issues to relevant colleagues or management, according to local, regional and/or global policies and procedures.

Proficient in extracting and analyzing large datasets to strategically identify samples for targeted monitoring.

Strong verbal and written business communication skills: highly adept at synthesizing and summarizing complex and/or voluminous content into clear, concise, and actionable communications.

Effective in identifying, developing, and implementing scalable/sustainable processes and other continuous improvements to achieve organizational efficiencies and increase effectiveness.

Experience in building and cultivating relationships with key partners and stakeholders across organizational levels.

Thinks “outside of the box” for solutions. Applies creative problem-solving and appropriate business solutions to effectively address compliance risk.

Excellent project management skills: can prioritize multiple tasks and goals to ensure timely, on-target, and within-budget outcomes.

Demonstrates the ability to identify appropriate resources and exercises good judgment in terms of leveraging internal resources.

Strong business acumen: understands how the business “works” and demonstrates consistently effective “navigation” across the organization.

Can effectively drive discussions and decisions toward desired end results.

Bachelor’s Degree (finance/accounting, life sciences, law, public policy, marketing, business, or related discipline preferred).

Professional certification preferred (CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.).

Graduate-level Degree preferred (JD, MBA, or related discipline).

Healthcare Compliance Certification (before or within 6 months of appointment).

Ability to travel (less than 10%).
