Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is seeking an innovative, self-starter leader Manager of Business Planning 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Linthicum, MD.

What You’ll get to Do:

The Manager of Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors Division (MLSS) Business Planning will support both the Director of Division Business Operations/Chief of Staff, and the Director of Program Excellence as well as the extended leadership team to manage all business operational aspects of the MLSS organization.  The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.  The candidate must possess, and be able to demonstrate, excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must possess strong leadership abilities and effective problem-solving capabilities. They must think ahead to anticipate potential challenges, ensuring they are addressed in advance or providing recommended options to leadership when necessary.

Position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Capital & Expense – Primary task is to manage all aspects of the management, preparation, and execution of the Capital planning and methodology process. Monitor project performance and provide status reports as required. Ensure all activities are aligned with project objectives and delivered on time and within budget. Provide LRSP Capital Planning support as required.Cross-Campus & Community Projects – assist Director in achieving the Division’s Goals & Objectives supporting our 19 campuses with site-specific Employee Action Groups, Community Outreach efforts, and other Employee Engagement activities.Division Business Rhythm and Operations - Support the Division Program/Business Operations team in preparation of Sector and corporate meetings and reporting as needed (incl. but not limited to Division Day, Monthly Staff Meetings, Monthly Division Executive Reviews, Site Visits, Customer Visits and Meetings, Business Unit Reviews, Quarterly Team Meetings, Quarterly All Hands, etc.). Set division business rhythms and coordinate the development, review and periodic reporting of applicable division operating objectives, and non-financial metrics. Anticipate and proactively manage the materials, data and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events.IPRS - Generate IPRS Executive Summaries and coordination of all Business Unit Review program data. Ensure IPRS supporting data and inputs are accurate. Support Program Director for early identification of program risk and support RTG plans (esp. Customer Satisfaction and Quality). Meeting Support – Prepare all meeting minutes, create Action Item Trackers on MS TEAMS and track to closure. When either Director is unavailable, stand in for them at meetings or run meetings in their absence as needed.Monthly Management Report (MMR) – Prepare inputs to the MMR capturing pertinent DivOps updates for the leadership team’s awareness.MS Principles & Operating Practices (MS PrOP) – Manage the coordination and review of MS PrOP drafts with relevant stakeholders to gather formal comments/concurrence.SharePoint – Review all requests for new sites and maintain oversight of permissions to approved sites; maintain tracking sheet detailing all addresses and owners. Lead the Division migration to SharePoint Online and work with the ES team to ensure everything gets moved over correctly.Special Projects – manage and staff special projects that as requested by the Director or VP/GM.Strategic Communication – support Director in developing key messages and talking points for VPGM to deliver to Sector/Corporate Leadership and to employees, prepare presentations that communicate the Division’s priorities, challenges, and highlights effectively for a variety of audiences and settings.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of related business planning/program management/operations/supply chain work experience, Master's Degree with 6+ year of experience. (Note: an additional 4+ years, for a minimum of 12 years+, of related business planning/program management/operations/supply chain experience may be considered in lieu of degree).Experience with conducting presentations to upper/executive management.3+ years of team lead or direct management of people.Experience with financial management and financial reporting tools/systems.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required.Ability to travel up to 50% domestically.US Citizenship required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with cross campus/sector, or multi-discipline, collaboration.Experience in managing multiple projects of various complexity.Extensive and documented experience in an operational role at the Business Unit level.Experience with Northrop Grumman’s culture and demonstrated success effectively working within company’s organization, processes, and procedures.Previous management/experience with Continuous Improvement projects.Experience with writing White Papers for internal/external communications.

Salary Range: $149,400.00 - $224,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
