Manager Business Systems (On-Site)

Primary Function
The Manager of Business Systems partners closely with business leaders and technology leaders by leading the team tasked with discovering and driving technology solutions to business problems. This person coordinates Information Technology resources, both internal and external, to deliver technology changes and new systems to meet the needs of the business. This person identifies availability of technology resources and matches them with current business priority while obtaining the approval from key business stakeholders. This person is responsible for the team members tasked with working with identified business partners to understand the existing and potential technology capabilities and how they can best be utilized to address current and future business needs. This person develops methods to improve technology operational policies, procedures, standards, and best practices, to ensure that all business needs are met in the correct priority in a timely manner and are compliant with other company policies.

Principal Duties

Manage a team of individuals that work with identified business partners to understand the existing and potential technology capabilities and how they can best be utilized to address current and future business needs.Regularly and clearly communicate with key stakeholders in both the information technology and business departments about future project prioritization and current project status, including actively working to resolve any impediments.Encourage and facilitate critical evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.Oversee the process for defining and writing user stories to represent business requirements.Ensure the delivery of artifacts as needed to support comprehensive understanding: functional requirements, process flow diagrams, screen mockups, and data flow diagrams.Collaborate with developers and IT subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between factors such as cost, time to deliver, usability, system performance, and scalability.Ensure the establishment and continuation of a conduit between the user community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.Proactively communicate with external customers and internal business partners, and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.Establish communication channels between the business units, technology teams and support teams, and ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions.Ensure entire team has a thorough understanding of the business model, operational processes, and key performance indicators.Define project scope, goals, deliverables, budget, and actively manage risk.Develop project plans and coordinate resources to ensure that the project is successfully completed within defined constraints.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.6+ years of related experience as a Business Analyst or similar position, preferably at mortgage servicing company.5+ years of demonstrated leadership ability with information technology teams.3+ years of experience managing people.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Multiple examples of identifying, executing, and delivering visionary solutions.Experience managing IT projects, preferably using scrum or other agile development methodologies.Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
