Summary
The Patient Access Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of patient access. Serves as a patient access expert to provide recommendations to improve workflows and enhance the scope and future trajectory of the operations within our front desk team. Responsible for managing the processes of the department to ensure that complete and accurate demographic and financial data is captured in a consistent and timely manner, that EPIC workflows are consistently reviewed as they pertain to the clinic, that communication and education is consistently shared with staff to optimize BOC functionality within Baptist Cancer Center.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate resources, activities and personnel associated with the Patient Access areas including; Insurance Verification, Pre-Registration, and Registration.
• Oversight to training and education to Customer Service Coordinators and Admission Representatives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain cross-training program for key positions with continuous monitoring of training efforts in the front desk area.
• Serve as a liaison to physician offices and infusion centers to ensure proper education and needs are met for maximum reimbursement.
• Assist in maintaining quality, training, and system enhancements within the department.
• Performs staff audits to ensure staff are utilizing applications according to optimal workflow recommendations.
• Oversight of payer website access, including adding staff, terminating staff access and monthly/quarterly audits to verify access capabilities.
• Oversight of all provider schedule builds and changes within the BOC system for providers.
• Works in conjunction with leadership to verify processes and procedures are standardizations across Baptist Cancer Center, whenever possible.
• Supports centralized system processes in the scheduling areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Minimum Required
Associate's Degree Business Administration, related field, -or- equivalent experience. Preferred/Desired
Bachelor's Degree in Business administration or related field. Minimum Required
2 years Healthcare/Medical Business Operations
Preferred/Desired
5 years Healthcare/Medical-Business Operations
Preferred/Desired
Healthcare Financial Management Association Certification (HFMA)
