**Summary:**
+ The Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is ranked in the top ten programs for volume in the United States with excellent post-implant patient survival.
+ The Manager, Clinical Operations is responsible for daily operations of the VAD Program from patient referral, evaluation, surgical implant and post-implant care. The Program follows nearly 200 patients across the care continuum including ambulatory and inpatient settings, rehabilitation, home care and emergency care.
+ The Manager, Clinical Operations provides oversight in conjunction with the Medical Director, Surgical Director and Operations Director to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care in alignment with applicable state and federal regulatory requirements (such as TJC, OPTN/UNOS and PA DOH).
+ The Manager, Clinical Operations Is responsible for delivering an exceptional patient experience combined with optimal clinical outcomes by leading the programs clinical staff through change and process improvement. **Responsibilities:** · Oversee daily clinical operations for the program to ensure that patients receive safe, quality care in an efficient and customer-centric manner that is in alignment with established policies, procedures, protocols, workflows and regulatory requirements. · Monitors the patient experience and clinical outcomes and partners with the clinical team on process improvement initiatives to ensure optimal quality. · Ensure that the necessary operational resources such as clinic space, equipment, and staff are in place to deliver safe, effective and efficient care for transplant patients. · Solicits useful input from the clinical team and administration in developing systems that are effective, improve the clinical care, and improve the patient experience. · Lead in a motivational manner such that there is high employee engagement across a high functioning team. Provide day-to-day management of program personnel including performance reviews. · Partners with the Director, Clinical Operations and Business Administrator to manage the operating budget for the program, including payroll, clinical billing documentation, supply and equipment needs. Ensure fiscal soundness of the program through collaborative management of fiscal operations, (budget, reporting, and managed care contract terms) and participating in business development and program growth. · Ensure adequate and accurate electronic medical record documentation through adherence to established workflows on a daily basis. · Manage patient flow through the transplant process, patient satisfaction and concerns, electronic and medical record documentation processes. · Partners with VAD quality team to objective measures that evaluate program performance and support performance improvement projects aimed at maintaining patient outcomes that meet or exceed expectations. · Develop staffing plans for program clinical and support staff that create efficiencies and support quality patient care outcomes. · Work closely with members of the PTI leadership team to support clinical, quality, regulatory compliance, information systems, fiscal, and research goals and initiatives of the program(s) and the institute. **Credentials:**
+ Registered Nurse - PA (Required) **_Or_** · Advanced Practice Provider – CRNP or PA-C (Pennsylvania Licensed Required) **Education or Equivalent Experience:**
+ Master of Arts or Science (Preferred) with education Specialization of Healthcare Administration, Policy, Business, Nursing or related field equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant work experience including at least 2+ years in Clinical Management
