The Colleague Experience Group (formerly HR) is focused on providing a great colleague experience every day. Our mission is to obsess over understanding the colleague experience at a deeper level to co-create simple and great ways of working that enable everyone to be and deliver their best.
As the Manager, International Colleague Strategic Partner, you will be a key player in driving the overall colleague experience for our Japan based colleagues through:
Growing the careers of our colleagues and leaders – delivering best practice talent management solutions, innovative learning and development experiences and programs that build leaders of the future. Engaging colleagues and leaders to strengthen and champion our culture - focusing on DE&I, transformational change, colleague risk and regulation, and Amex Flex (our hybrid/virtual way of working). Delivering and promoting holistic well-being practices for all colleagues across the moments that matter to them.This role reports to the Director, International Colleague Strategic Partner, Japan, and will work closely with CEG team members within the market and globally, which prides itself on its expertise and collaborative spirit.

As a senior member of the team, this role supports the Japan Colleague Strategy by:
Contributing to the overall development and execution of the Japan Market Colleague Plan. Owning the development and delivery of sophisticated projects and impactful programs supporting local and global CEG priorities, partnering with key collaborators across CEG (including Centre’s of Excellence) and the business. Partner with business leaders and teams to support their strategic colleague needs, including transformational and organisational change support. Mentoring team members to support their development and career growth. Leading the analysis and insights of trends across the colleague experience, ensuring we remain focused by data and facts. Owning the design and operational excellence of colleague and leader communications, presentations and engagement forums.Skills and Qualifications
Seasoned experience in Human Resources, with broad knowledge of HR generalist processes and practices. Demonstrable track record to mentor and influence a broad range of collaborators across the enterprise. Proven project management skills: ability to balance multiple, sophisticated projects, events, and tasks, and prioritise accordingly, with a demonstrable track record to meet deadlines. Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, build relationships and demonstrate them to drive outcomes. Excellent communication skills: able to cascade complex messages in simple form and tailor messages to audience, both written and verbal. Demonstrates a keen curiosity about understanding the business, market trends and financial drivers in the industries in which American Express competes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; uses data insights and trends to inform and influence. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, to navigate Excel formulas and pivot tables in Excel and navigate PowerPoint tools to build visually meaningful presentations and content.
