Job Details:
This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Commodity. Responsibilities include Grain merchandising local basis markets in assigned feed mill areas, implement and execute logistics and supply chain security strategies; procure high quality and competitively priced feed grains to the feed mills; provide timely and accurate reporting for pricing and grain contract management; forecast feed mill ingredient supply and demand; develop, maintain and improve relationships with local farmers and feed mill personnel.
This position will also be responsible for measuring and reporting grain merchandising team metrics on a quarterly basis. This will include trading P&L and savings analysis compared to established goals and objectives for the category. This position will be responsible for monitoring commodity market activity and local basis valuations to develop and execute local trading strategies to align with team leadership.
This position will require market forecasting for budgets and analyzing budget versus actual costs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job: Finance, Business or Economics.
Experience: minimum of 3 years of related experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Supervisory: No.
Travel: 5 to 6 trips per year.
