The Manager position is part of the Regulatory Exam Lifecycle Management (RELM or ‘the Team’) in Global Risk and Compliance (‘GRC’).

 RELM supports the end-to-end lifecycle of US regulatory exams, ongoing supervision, and remediation of regulatory findings – responsibilities that are central to the safety and soundness of American Express. Within RELM, the Regulatory Risk Management (RRM) team focuses on exam readiness for novel and complex exams, leads the annual Regulatory Exam Control & Compliance process, delivers training, and performs data analysis to drive insights on exams and regulatory findings. RRM also manages RELM’s operational excellence and risk management-related efforts, reporting, and ad hoc projects.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The RELM Manager will be primarily responsible for managing governance-related activities for RELM including maintenance of policies, procedures and templates used across the team.  The Manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining training materials both to onboard new RELM team members, and to train business partners on the exam and regulatory findings processes.  Lastly, the Manager will be responsible for various reporting and risk management-related deliverables including Control & Compliance ratings, Committee/Leadership reporting, and other ad hoc initiatives.  Key responsibilities will include: 

        Maintaining RELM policies, procedures, templates, and instruction guides.         Developing and maintaining training materials to onboard new RELM team members and train business partners on the exam and regulatory findings processes.         Assisting in the calculation and reporting of RELM’s Control & Compliance metrics Assisting in the preparation of reports around regulatory exams and findings, including reporting to the Compliance Risk Management Committee and GRC Leadership Supporting RRM in other risk-management related activities and ad hoc initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

         High attention to detail, sense of follow-through, and accountability.           Highly collaborative, with ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders          Outstanding project management, organizational, and process/workflow skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and operate with minimal direction Strong written and interpersonal communication skills Good analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to communicate a message Adept with Microsoft Office suite, including ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations          Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

         Tableau and Archer experience a plus.          Prior experience with regulatory exams preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
