The Manager of Consumables Engineering will lead one of our Consumables Validation Engineering teams. This team will be responsible for the bring up of new high-capacity injection mold tooling, sustainment of those tools and improvements in the manufacturing/design of Cart Body, Bottom, Lid and Accessory components found in our GeneXpert cartridge. This role involves a blend of personnel and technical project management activities. The successful candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and demonstrate excellent cross-functional communication skills. They should have a proven track record to coach personnel on the design and manufacture of plastic injection molded products and assemblies. This onsite position is part of the Consumables Manufacturing Engineering team. The Manufacturing Engineering team fosters an innovative culture that encourages working cross functionally with different departments to work on different types of problems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Lead a team of engineers and provide clear technical feedback. + Work directly with Process Engineering, Production and Quality staff to improve the manufacturability of on market products in accordance with design specifications, quality compliance, and cost requirements + Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet objectives. + Partner with R&D and cross-functional product teams on new product development, pilot operations, manufacturing capabilities and design transfer to ensure smooth and effective processes. + Maintain documentation of consumables parts, development, and qualifications according to ISO, CE/IVD, and FDA Quality standards. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Bioengineering or related area with 9+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience. + 1+ years direct supervisory/managerial experience. + Expertise with high-volume manufacturing in a regulated environment + Extensive knowledge in engineering processes, product design, manufacturing equipment qualification, test method validation and metrology systems It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Working in compliance with Quality Systems designed to meet regulatory requirements, such as but not limited to FDA QSR ISO 13485, MDD etc. + Knowledge of DBS Fundamentals, Danaher Material Systems and and Lean DBS tools Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The salary range for this role is $133,000-$183,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
