Manager Contracts Compliance

The Manager Contracts Compliance will partner with the General Counsel providing critical support to internal stakeholders ensuring the operational and strategic needs of the organization are delivered. This position will support the in-house legal team in reviewing and drafting agreements, facilitating and coordinating the processing of contract activities through completion; and creating and maintaining form contracts, including database management and enhancements. This position will work collaboratively with in-house attorneys and administrative staff and will interface with internal clients regularly as a key point of contact within the Legal Department. This position will be located at Central Office - Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities Manage Contracts Compliance Coordinator (25%) Manage workload distribution and clearly communicate performance expectations, goals, and objectives. Develop and motivate compliance/legal staff to grow as leaders by serving as a role model and mentor. Foster respect, trust, and openness to motivate and inspire others to pursue opportunities of excellence. Address poor performance concerns as they arise and exit nonperforming staff as required. Mitigate team conflict and communication problems. Inspire staff via on the job training, rewards and recognition for exemplary efforts. Contract and Lease Review & Management (25%) Conduct first level review of contracts, leases, and other legal documents. Perform lease abstraction to identify critical facts, data, and other lease management information. Review and organize client and third-party vendor contracts. Upload contracts into contract management software. Maintain contract templates and contract approval forms. Research & Data Management (25%) Conduct preliminary legal research including statutory, regulatory, and international issues. Investigate facts and analyze legislation, statutory and case law, judicial decisions, legal opinions and rulings, ordinances, and other documents to determine legal relevancy. Collect and analyze data needed for legal or administrative matters. Assist in developing and formalizing legal processes. Draft, proofread, and edit a variety of documents for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting and content. Compliance – 25% Maintain, prepare, and file registrations and legal documents with federal and state agencies and courts. Docket filing dates. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business law or business administration - required. Master’s Degree - preferred. License/Certification: Paralegal certificate - required. Experience: 5-7 years legal experience - required. 10+ years legal experience - preferred. 3-5 years management experience - preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Problem solving — identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully. Planning/organizing — prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans. Critical thinking – ability to gather, synthesize, analyze information to objectively draw conclusions, make reasonable decisions, and provide creative solutions and communicate the situation, action, and result clearly and concisely. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficient in internet research activities. Ability to manage time and balance priorities amidst multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to compose reports and correspondence. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and nurture relationships with vendors and internal customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex matters in an efficient and accurate manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Attention to accuracy, detail, and thoroughness. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Advanced knowledge of e-Builder Construction Project Management software strongly desired. #MFMBM
