What is the Corporate Tax group responsible for?Franklin’s Corporate Tax group is responsible for all tax aspects pertaining to the Company. We are a group of tax nerds who love to talk about federal income taxes, international taxes, state and local taxes. Nothing gets us more excited than the recent tax reforms and the ever evolving tax law changes globally. While we might talk and practice tax a lot, we are also a group of normal folks who enjoy having a good work life balance and company of our colleagues.
What is the Manager – Corporate Tax responsible for?As a Manager - Corporate Tax, you will be responsible for working with our tax team based outside of the US with the preparation and review of ASC 740 calculations and U.S. federal and multi-state income tax returns. You will assist with tax calculations and reconciliations for book to tax differences, special projects in support of corporate goals, and implement process improvements as needed. Additionally, because you like learning and training, you will assist in managing and training a tax team that is based outside of the USA.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Manager - Corporate Tax?Preparation and review of the Company's global quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures, including computation of book to tax differences, tracking of deferred tax inventory, and supporting tasks related to ASC 740.
Preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance including quarterly estimates and extensions, annual returns and provision-to-return calculations
Supervise a team of staff located outside of the US
Preparation and reconciliations and analyses for accounts as assigned and support external audits
Contribute to process and technology improvements aimed at streamlining compliance and reporting
Research tax issues, review legislative developments and assist in the analysis
Ad Hoc tax planning, structuring projects
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?A minimum of 6 years of corporate tax experience, including supervisory experience leading & guiding staff
Public Accounting/Big 4 experience preferred. Private industry experience a plus
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) and CPA is preferred
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize workflow and work independently
Strong leadership skillset: ability to lead, direct and influence
Possess knowledge of tax software functionality such as Onesource Income Tax, OneSource State Apportionment, and Onesource Tax Provision
Proficiency in Microsoft Products, Accounting ERP (Workday) and tax research tools (eg. Checkpoint)
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to drive process improvements
Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary—designed to support the whole person and to recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $162,000.00 - $168,000.00.
