Job PurposeTo leverage stakeholder relationships and sound credit management principals to ensure optimal debt collection in line with Nedbank’s business strategy to reduce the Bank’s risk and provisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead a team and make decisions within mandate to effectively optimize collections to reduce the Bank’s risk and provisions.
Leverage internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure the appropriate debt collection procedures and processes are followed timeously.
Implement sound credit risk management by providing advice on specialized credit risk matters to sales and direct reports.
Develop credit risk and rehabilitation frameworks and strategies to minimize non-performing loans inflows and protect the credit quality of the Bank’s asset book.
Implement and monitoring of client exit and / or rehabilitation processes and strategies. Manage and implement viable and bankable restructuring solutions of distressed client facilities.
Ensure efficient work ethic and achievement of business unit strategies and goals by proposing innovative ideas to enhance Business processes that facilitate customer experience with regards to client rehabilitation, collections and exit.
Key Responsibilities ContinueReduce business and reputational risk by ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards.
Manage performance of staff by implementing performance agreements, ensuring a clear vision, agreeing on goals and objectives, providing regular feedback on performance, recognizing and rewarding achievements
Take appropriate corrective action where required.
Monthly reporting on the performance of the non-performing portfolios.
Serve as member of various credit committee as and when required.
Actively contribute to enhancing the culture of the team and Bank by participating in the development and implementation of action plans identified through culture surveys.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate Education RequirementsBachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance and / or Law Degree.
Minimum Experience LevelA relevant professional designation will be an added advantage.
Minimum of five (5) experience in a banking environment in credit underwriting, specializing in credit origination and underwriting with good working knowledge of legal collections management and restructuring of distressed debt will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
