This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will design and deploy test systems and software for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of component, sub-assembly, and vehicle level testing. We design LabVIEW data acquisition and control systems based on National Instruments CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, PXI, and other hardware that will test fluid, mechanical, and electrical development and flight systems of our engines and launch vehicles. Our team provides support for business units and programs across Blue Origin for critical development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
In this role you will lead the Data Systems & Controls Engineering team at our Texas sites, consisting of hardware design, software development, and operations and support of active test facilities. You will maintain a 5-year plan for the team and work with the individuals on the team to help them prioritize their work and set goals; you will perform performance reviews and other management tasks. In addition to the leadership and management, you will perform technical work, including design and troubleshooting, and mentorship of less experienced engineers. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining related process and procedures. You will be responsible for effectively communicating to your team, to your management and with other teams at Blue (internal design teams, operations teams, the Quality organization, and business units).
