The Digital Transformation function specializes in change management strategy, with the aim to align people, process, and technology initiatives of Northern Trust to corporate and business unit strategy and vision. This helps to support and innovate new business strategies and operating model  amendments on behalf of clients and partners.

Job focus is on managing others and applying operational or strategic management skills. Management responsibilities and decisions likely include hiring, performance reviews, pay decisions and development. Achieves goals mostly through work of others. Provides leadership to managers and professional staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams. Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Decisions are guided by resource availability and organizational objectives

Major Duties :

Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinkingGuided by organization functional strategy, has broad impact on the functional, divisional or regional resultsThis role defines and drives strategy and innovative solutions to address current and future business challenges and achieving organizational objectives.Oversees, plans and directs the activities for the Unit, ensuring that Business objectives are being metAssumes accountability for financial and staffing resources, including developing and managing capital and expense budgets, liaising cross-function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivityAssumes full accountability for the performance and profitability of the area as compared to the planSeasoned leader with extensive business experience, and broad functional expertise, with focus on proactive strategic leadershipResponsible for managing multiple units or functions through the direct management of a group of managersDevelops, implements and communicates an overall strategy to meet both the Business Unit's and Corporation's strategic plan. Directs the activities of those areas toward accomplishing those objectives

Knowledge :Applies broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness to drive financial performanceNegotiates with senior leaders across the businessExcellent oral and written communication skills are requiredIn-dept. Functional / Industry Knowledge is requiredHighly flexible and adaptable to changeKnowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment. Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct the activities for the multiple units.

Experience :Leads through subordinate managers; contributes to the development of functional/operational long-term strategy and develops annual business plans to ensure alignmentA College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred
