Manager/Director of Technical Services:
Our Sidney, OH location is searching for an Engineering Manager or Director (title to be determined based on candidate experience level) to lead the Technical Services Team supporting the Refrigeration Sales and the HVACR aftermarket organizations. You will work closely with our customers to provide proactive technical support for the application of our Refrigeration products and solutions. The Refrigeration Application and Service Engineers will report to and take direction from this leader to maintain and enhance our value proposition by providing world class technical services.

Job Description

As a Manager/Director of Technical Services, you will: 

Establish a vision and execution plan to achieve the objectives we desire around providing proactive, efficient, and responsive technical support to our customers.Help lead solutions selling and discovery efforts with a broad set of customers to find new innovative ways to solve our customers problems with new & future solutions.Lead efforts within the HVACR Americas organization to enhance our Refrigeration systems expertise and talent development around the various Refrigeration system designs and processes. Identify and utilize various software systems and tools to equip the tech service team with the tools needed to support internal and external customers. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Engineering and other functions to establish product requirements, specifications and features that deliver differentiation and best applied value.Work closely with our Engineering, Technical Services & Quality organizations and laboratories to utilize various equipment and testing facilities to troubleshoot, validate and assess existing products and future technologies. Work with customers to deliver new and existing services to support the application of our existing and future products.Be the decision maker for warranty and sales concessions and provide guidance related to the management of quality events for commercial decisions.Develop and maintain technical support documents, including AE Bulletins, field service bulletins and the Approved Refrigerants and Oils documentation for all Copeland Refrigeration products.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar applicable technical degreeTen (10+) years of relevant experience in technical leadership or customer facing rolesStrong experience in R&D, product engineering, or engineering services environmentA proven change leader, capable of framing the vision for the future and leading the action plan necessary to achieve such a visionMust be able to travel to customer and other Copeland locations as neededAttention to detail, excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skillsDesire and passion for identifying new opportunities for improvement and problems that need to be solvedLegal authorization to work in the United States, unrestricted for an unlimited period of time. - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME)Ten (10+) years of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) experience.Business experience managing an organization, Profit & Loss objectives, Sales objectives is a plus.Strong experience with Thermodynamics, Vapor Compression Cycle and Heat Transfer knowledge applied to AC/HP systemsHands-on experience with Commercial Refrigeration equipment including CO2 compression systems and controls.Strong computer skillsExcellent customer communications skills with experience working directly with HVACR OEMs on new product design, development or troubleshooting

Flexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option and Core Hours 

This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work from home option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
