About the team
At the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering division, we develop and design cutting-edge hardware systems for multiple applications, such as search radars, fire control and combat management equipment for our customers active in both Naval and Ground-based domains. Our innovative solutions are designed to meet rigorous standards and operational requirements, ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality and performance.
The department consists of mechanical, electrical and procured parts engineering teams, as well as our Environmental Competence Center. One of our key teams is the Electrical Engineering team, comprising about 30 professional engineers. They handle the electrical designs of products like antenna units, processing cabinets, power distribution and ship cabling. These designs can be used to produce and assemble for our internal supply chain but also for our subcontractors or directly for customers. We are looking for a:
Manager Electrical Engineering
You will be part of the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Management Team and will work closely together with other engineering disciplines (e.g. System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Test Engineering, etc.) and with Supply Chain and our internal production. Your role will be crucial in ensuring seamless integration and coordination across various projects and departments.
We need an enthusiastic and motivated people manager with a strong engineering background to lead the Electrical Engineering team. You will be responsible for:
Competence and skill management within your team, in co-operation with the Thales Naval Academy, to guarantee the best level of competitiveness
Proactively managing the allocation of resources to successfully staff development and sustainment engineering projects ensuring that project timelines and deliverables are met
Leading the deployment and improvement of processes, methods, and tools for the electrical discipline. We are currently transitioning to an EPLAN-based workflow
Ensuring that processes are being followed during the execution of our engineering activities maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
Managing the technical innovation roadmap for your discipline driving continuous improvement and adoption of state-of-the-art technologies.
Guiding your team through the annual HR-cycle, including performance evaluations, professional development, and career planning.
Interfacing and cooperating with other electrical engineering departments within the Thales Group.
Why you'd be a good match
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
Experienced people manager with a few years of proven experience in an engineering management role.

Strong interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and expectations ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.

Fluent in both Dutch and English.
