Job Description Summary
Provides program oversight and strategic direction for environmental management at a large multi-line manufacturing facility. Reports directly to the Sr Corporate Manager EHS and works with plant leadership to drive environmental compliance and lead sustainability initiatives reducing waste, water, and energy while protecting the environment. Drives technical solutions and provides leadership and direction for environmental aspects of plant operations, including engineering and maintenance projects. Oversee and supervise junior level environmental professionals and technicians and/or operators. Participate in development of corporate environmental management system program and roll out implementation plans to establish an effective environmental management program at facility.
Job Description
Provide coaching, guidance, and training to EHS Staff (with special focus on direct reports) to build capabilities and ensure effective execution of EHS initiatives.Ensure all facility staff receive appropriate environmental trainingServe as EHS Pillar Leader (or Co-Leader) to align plant continuous improvement goals with corporate objectives. Mentor pillar team members for successful engagement and ownership integrating EHS pillar activities (such as “water walks”) into daily plant activities to achieve an interdependent culture that protects people and the environment.Track and manage annual submittals of Sustainable Development information (data, goals, award applications, etc.)Prepare and implement corrective actions from the Environmental ReviewParticipate in environmental audit process at other facilitiesManage Facility Environmental Program ensuring requirements are timely met and tracking is up to data. Owns accuracy of environmental KPSs, including review of environmental data/info to identify trends & potential areas for risk reductionDevelop Environmental risk register at each siteCommunicate potential risks to facility operations leadership and corporate environmental leadershipLead environmental incident management efforts to ensure timely reporting, accurate root cause analysis (TapRooT), and CAPA sharing.Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are developed and tracked to completion.Act as a liaison for the Company to regulatory agencies when needed (e.g., inspections, audits, committees, SME, etc.)Participate in early management design and review process, management of change, and whenever new substances, processes, or procedures are introduced that may represent a new or previously unrecognized hazard to reduce risk potential and ensure compliance. Ensure plant capital and R&M projects are supported from an environmental perspective – identify potential environmental and sustainability impacts relative to project workLead the facilitation of EPA or other regulatory agency rules including but not limited to permit and compliance monitoring and reporting, TRI reporting, Stormwater Management, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), Greenhouse Gas emissions (GHG), etc.Participate in recruiting efforts and new hire onboardingPhysical Environment/Demands:

Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
High School Diploma or GED EquivalentBachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Engineering, Biology or Chemistry) requiredMasters in Engineering or Science preferredLicensed Professional Engineer is a plusSkills and Experience:
2+ years of experience supervising other employees required6 – 12 years progressive experience in the environmental/engineering fieldExpert knowledge of all environmental regulations and their impact on the food industryExpert knowledge of all environmental regulations and their impact on the food industryAdvanced knowledge of EHS Leadership functions. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $98,770.00 - $148,160.00
