Diageo Business Service India (DBSI) is a Diageo Business Shared Services Centre (DBS) servicing different markets. Processes in scope at DBSI are: Financial Planning & Analytics, Finance Controlling, Source to Pay, Sell to Cash, Human Resource, Master Data Management & Analytics, Application & Technology Support etc.
Finance Controlling (FC) Tower is part of Global Business Operations and provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting. The tower is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency.
North America is the biggest Market within Diageo with GBP 5.8 Billion revenue and GBP 2.2 Billion of Operating Profit. System landscape and way of selling is also unique within Diageo.
Purpose of role:
The ‘role’ is responsible for handling and implementing the Finance controlling for the North America market.
Regular functional & operational engagement with market Finance Directors, Subsidiary finance team, CFO, cross-functions & Leaders of the organization will be an integral part of this role.
Leadership Responsibilities/ Key Team members:
Critical Finance Capabilities:
+ Critical review of the financials statements before month end close.
+ P&L detailed Analysis and risk assessment in the balance sheet.
+ Ensuring no Control lapses and meeting the Diageo Governance standards
+ ESG accounting and reporting
+ Sense check of the sanctity of the data by comparing NSV/Case, COGS/case, A&P running rate, Overheads running rate etc.
+ Accounting for; Depreciation/Amortization journals, Monthly bonus accruals, State excise tax credits, Overhead monitoring and allocating to the correct profit centers, Inventory reconciliation and integrating into Diageo, FA reco and integrating to Diageo, AR collections reconciliation, Samples & Non inventory reconciliation, Diageo ICO accounting.
+ Working on the integration of financials into Diageo.
+ Manging the new acquisitions
Key team members to handle:
This role mainly works with Finance Director of Diageo NAM market, and Senior Management of acquired entities, Group reporting, GBO tower.
Top Accountabilities
+ Work with the FC team and FD to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
+ Continuously improve the quality of accounting and implement changes in accounting standards, policies & procedures
+ Pro-actively mobilise the legal entity controls and risk management agenda, ensuring risks are appropriately handled
+ Lead and coordinate monthly review of balance sheets and Oversee the monthly GL reconciliation process
Audit (PwC, Internal audit, tax) coordination and effective resolution of potential audit issues
Qualifications and Experience Required:
• CA or Cost accountant
• 7-10 years of experience in a multinational corporate environment with exposure to financial accounting, reporting, controlling
Leadership Skills :
Has experience in handling large, potentially diverse teams of managers and/or senior professionals
Shift :
15:30 to 00:30 hrs (stretched timing during peak period)
