Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently looking for leaders to support our Operations team as a Manager General Manufacturing 1. This leader will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Flight Operations and Test organization in the Melbourne, FL location.

The Manager General Manufacturing will have responsibility for overseeing daily operations and modification to aircraft aligned with test and evaluations and program needs. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant area in accordance with NGC policy and procedures as well as development of personnel, cross training, staffing and managing resources that support the operation. The selected candidate must have highly effective interpersonal skills.

The shift is 4/10, Monday-Thursday from 6am-4:30pm.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The manager would be leading a team of 12-15 hourly flight test technicians, operations mechanics, and avionics technicians.Oversees the daily repair station aircraft generation capabilities.Oversees all modifications and manufacturing of testing aligned with program needs.Coordinate HR efforts for staffing based on program needs.Coordinate and lead operations start up meeting.Daily resource planning to meet customer/schedule demand.Collaborate with production scheduling and test program engineers and managers to meet schedule requirements.Ensure tools, plans, people and material are available to complete assigned workload.Ensure repair station and hanger regulatory documents are in compliance.Leads all efforts for launch, recovery, and bed down of air vehicle.Report production KPls to site leadership.Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions on safety & quality incidents.Mentor, train, and develop staff including performance management and corrective action.Drive continuous improvement in safety, delivery, quality and cost.Up to 25% of Travel to support Customer Requirements.Coordinate support or support night flight operations when required by program.Collaborate with Flight Operations Manager and Fire Chief to ensure safe operations.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 4 years of related production experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment1 year of leading projects or teams.Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)Experience with Shop floor management system (e.g. MES, ALIS, IMIS) or equivalentAbility to work any shift as needed by the business.Ability support night flight operations when required by program.Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance and Program Access (Classified programs) within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.Active Program Access4 years' of experience working in a manufacturing environment specific to modification management / flight test5 years' experience in Defense Industry experience as Supervisor or Team Lead in Manufacturing Management.Experience working Repair and Installation.A&P License CertificationExperience with 14 CFR -145 code of federal regulationsFamiliar DCMA INST 8210 Manual.Familiarity with Manufacturing product line.

Salary Range: $84,300.00 - $126,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
