Position Overview
Shaw’s Outsourced Global Sourcing organization is relied upon to provide finished-product sourcing solutions that create a sustainable competitive advantage. This is achieved through a collaborative decision-making process that maximizes profitability, drives speed to market and provides on-time/in-full delivery of quality products to our customer. The Supply Development Manager performs two critical roles: 1. Supporting our Residential business strategy through the discovery, qualification and onboarding of new suppliers, and 2. Selection of supply partners for new product launches and current product transitions.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supply Development for the Hardwood, Tile & Stone and Laminate product categories. Alignment to Brand (Shaw Floors, COREtec, Anderson Tuftex, Philly/Mainstreet) and Product strategies is imperative.
+ Continuous global discovery of potential flooring suppliers, innovations, technologies and trends that provide a competitive advantage. Execute non-disclosure agreements with new potential suppliers, gather supplier profiles and obtain initial quotes.
+ Organized management of the overall supply landscape, potential supplier profiles and confidential quote databases for each category.
+ Utilize consumer insights, industry research, competitive data and market trends to negotiate with suppliers and make impactful sourcing decisions.
+ Lead the new supplier qualification and onboarding process throughout the entire process. The ability to hold cross-functional peers accountable is necessary. Negotiate and fully execute Master Supply Agreements with new suppliers, including product pricing and business terms.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including our Supply Relationship Management and Procurement Operations teams, to define and implement data-driven sourcing strategies that optimize supplier business awards for new product introductions and product transitions. The ability to navigate ambiguity and create clarity with internal partners are critical for success.
+ Perform supplier capability analysis to translate business/customer product requests into supply recommendations that provide sustainable and profitable outcomes for the business.
+ Obtain exclusivity to Shaw from our suppliers around product specifications, design, innovation or intellectual property as needed or requested from our business partners.
+ Present data-driven new business award decisions to the Global Sourcing Leadership team.
+ Drive connectivity and alignment with our Global Sourcing and cross-functional teams in Asia. Communication and alignment outside of normal US business hours is common and required.
+ Establish a strategic roadmap in support of business objectives for the assigned product categories.
+ Actively participate in ongoing Supplier Business Reviews that provide valuable feedback to our suppliers’ overall performance.
+ Contribute to quarterly internal supplier status reviews that support the Supply Relationship Management strategic alignment across the business.
+ Deliver annual cost savings for the assigned categories across.
+ Build Trusting Relationships with multiple internal functions to ensure successful product launches: ○ Product Development to understand project timelines and product specifications ○ Product Management to select and qualify suppliers and products ○ International Logistics to understand and compare product cost structure ○ Technical & Quality on supplier capability and product specifications and performance ○ Legal, Sustainability & Compliance to ensure our products are safe, legal and ethically manufactured ○ Planning to ensure products are ordered and available to meet business needs
Requirements
+ 4-year degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Logistics, or Engineering
+ Global Business and Financial acumen, including negotiating skills
+ Project Management Skills
+ Ability to travel internationally, 2-3 times per year as needed
OR
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 5 years' experience in a Hard Surfaces Business/Support Management role
+ Global Business and Financial acumen, including negotiating skills
