Manager Government Affairs

The Manager Government Affairs manages the government relations and legislative activities at the local, state, and federal levels to develop proactive communications, build grassroots advocacy, and strengthen relationships between government officials and Cone Health leaders. This position supports the director by monitoring policy developments, supporting direct advocacy efforts, and managing personal and constituent issues from government officials.
Manages the organization's communications program to inform government officials and Cone Health staff about critical issues and drafts messaging and materials to ensure accurate and consistent messaging to maintain positive relationships.
Implements and expands a grassroots advocacy network of leadership and staff, fostering personal relationships with elected officials and facilitating grasstops advocacy efforts, to strengthen the organization's influence and impact on policy decisions.
Identifies opportunities and organizes meetings/tours between organization representatives and government officials, thought leaders, and policy stakeholders, managing logistics and communications to ensure successful engagement and relationship-building.
Oversees policy and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels, providing analyses to support strategic decision-making and advocacy efforts.
Works with internal team on advocacy activities at local, state, and federal levels, establishing credible relationships with relevant individuals and organizations enhance collaboration industry associations.
Researches and seeks to resolve personal and constituent issues for elected officials.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE:Required: 2 Years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Must be eligible to register as a lobbyist
