Serves as a member of the Human Resources team by providing information and service to employees and managers. Manages the Human Resources front office, file person and front lobby receptionist. Responsible for successful daily administrative operations of the applicant process and work flow in the department. Coordinates the use of student and intern workers. Develops and coordinates orientation and training of office staff, ensuring all staff members are appropriately cross-trained. Establishes and implements office standards and procedures with emphasis on process improvement. Counsels employees regarding general employment policies and pay practices.
Education
High School diploma or GED required. Post high school education preferred.
Experience
Previous hospital experience with a minimum of two years office supervisory/management experience. Alternatively, will consider if there is three to five years experience of progressive responsibility in a hospital or Human Resources office setting.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must be able to effectively communicate with employees and managers regarding sensitive and often complicated issues. Must be able and willing to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and purchasing processes needed. Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, word processing, spreadsheet software, e-mail, copy machines, fax machines, microfiche readers and basic audiovisual equipment.
