Position Purpose and Objectives
The Total Rewards and HRIS Centre of Excellence is focused on bringing efficiency and value to the business through improving global HR operations, analytics, reporting, and rewards structures.
As part of a growing, global team supporting DNEG’s HR Information System (Workday) for over 11,000 staff members in over 11 locations globally, the HR Systems Specialist will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and implementation of DNEG’s HRIS internally at the company.
The HR Systems Specialist provides Workday product and implementation subject matter expertise to business stakeholders and leaders, collaborating across functional areas in various time zones, as required. This role will work with key stakeholders to understand their business requirements and help analyze, configure, test, and deploy the Workday solution. They are also responsible for ensuring data integrity, supporting system releases and enhancements, recommending and configuring HRIS solutions, maintaining system security, building and delivering user training, maintaining process documentation, and report writing.
The HR Systems Specialist will support DNEG’s planned 2024 implementation of the Talent Optimization and Advanced Compensation modules in Workday.
Essential Job Functions
Configure and test Workday configurations including core HCM, security, business processes, time tracking, absence management, and any future delivered modulesCollaborate with internal teams to drive requirements gathering, design, build, testing, and deployment of Workday functionality of both new and existing modulesEducate, train, and provide ongoing feedback to various users including HR on data integrity, accurate use of the system; orienting new hires to the system; ad-hoc training as system improvements are implementedPartnering with the HR teams, drive continuous improvements of the HRIS, identify strategies and risks, and propose recommendations to meet functional requirementsResponsible for ongoing support, maintenance, and updates to Workday releasesProvide ongoing education to stakeholders on enhancement opportunities and process improvements to new and existing functionalityContributes to an excellent HR service experience to employee and managers with respect to their interactions with WorkdayCreate, maintain, and recommend reports for key user groups including HR and Finance and other areas as neededDevelop and maintain process and system documentationConfigure and maintain Workday system security and access controlAudit and quality control; perform regular data audits to ensure data is aligned to global standards and practicesTroubleshoot system or reporting issues that HR teams or management may encounter
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
A bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience implementing/supporting Workday is requiredPrevious consulting experience as an internal consultant or with a consulting companyWorkday Pro Certification is preferred but not essentialWorkday experience required in one or more of the functional areas including HCM, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Talent Optimization, Advanced Compensation, Security, and Report Writing and Calculated FieldsCustomer service oriented with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations and deliver a solid experienceExperience handling employee data discretely and professionallyStrong analytical, prioritization, problem-solving, project management, and planning skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel; Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) experience is preferredStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to wide range of audiences, both technical and non-technicalStrong understanding of HR operations and processes and how HR technology can be leveragedAbility to work independently, think creatively and critically, and take initiativeAbility to prioritise and manage multiple priorities at one time and switch priorities quickly as needed
