Position Summary: 

Manages financial risks, financial planning and forecasting within a specific business unit or function including compliance with all financial record-keeping requirements. May also manage other finance disciplines including general accounting. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Major Responsibilities:

•    Manages general accounting function(s) and team responsible for the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results for a plant or business.
•    Manages team responsible for the close process including balance sheets, profit and loss statements. May be responsible for closing capital/fixed asset sub-ledgers and other responsibilities associated with capital/fixed assets.
•    May manage accountants responsible for cost accounting and/or fixed asset accounting activities. May lead cost accounting and/or fixed asset accounting projects at various times of year.
•    Implements processes and controls to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards/policies.
•    Makes recommendations to drive business strategy and results. Leads projects in targeted improvement areas.

Team Responsibilities Specifics:

•    Manage and oversee the daily operation of the accounting department including but not limited to:
o    Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reports
o    Preparing financial statements and related schedules
o    Preparing relevant documents for BIR filings and assessments
o    Preparing monthly trial balance and Bank reconciliations
o    Responsible in the monthly and annual closing of the books
o    Preparing and processing of payroll
o    Month and year-end process
o    Accounts payable/receivable
o    Cash receipts
o    General ledger
o    Treasury
o    Cash forecasting
o    Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
o    Capital assets reconciliation
o    Trust account statement reconciliations
o    Check runs
o    Fixed asset activity
o    Debt activity
•    Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
•    Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
•    Coordinate and complete accounting audits
•    Ensure accuracy and completeness in the output of accounting staff
•    Ensure the accuracy of company ledger 
•    Collaborates with management and department heads to resolve accounting-related issues
•    Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
•    Meet financial accounting objectives

Required Education / Experience / Skills: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.  CPA Required.
•    Experience in Management, Accounting, or related field may be preferred.
•    Excellent leadership and communication skills.
•    Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
•    Exceptional math skills.
•    Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and MS Office.
•    High level of efficiency and accuracy.
•    Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
•    Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data.
