Your role at BaxterThis position at Baxter will be part of a best-in-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization and acts as an extension of the Medical Products and Therapies organization.
This position leads all FP&A activities for Advanced Surgery within the Americas region, maintaining significant interaction with senior leadership; the role offers direct support to the Advanced Surgery Finance leads and Advanced Surgery Americas leadership team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Finance Manager of Global FP&A Advanced Surgery, this role plays an instrumental part in steering Baxter’s financial direction as the Americas region represents more than 50% of the total revenue for Global Advanced Surgery business. This role requires a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills with a high level of financial and business acumen.
This role is expected to manage the planning and reporting cadence and provide actionable insights that will help support business leaders in informed decision-making. Leadership skills are needed to manage multiple business partners across the diverse countries making up the Americas region.
This role does not have any subordinates.
Your TeamThis FP&A role is responsible for contributing to financial planning and reporting activities and providing strategic support to the whole Advanced Surgery Americas team.
What you'll be doingPerforming strategic financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to assess business performance and facilitate decision making and business support to drive strategic decisions. Examples include pricing and profitability analysis, geographic expansion business case creation and business performance driver analysis on monthly and quarterly results, among others
Lead and coordinate areas of the comprehensive planning processes (long range plan, forecasts, operating plan) and monthly financial reviews with senior commercial leaders and Global FP&A
Develop, enhance, and maintain relationships with multiple finance and business customers across the whole Americas region, including United States, Latin America and Canada
Lead month end close process and provide frequent P&L updates, as well as investigate and analyze variances. Collaborate with Accounting, Integrated Supply Chain, and broader finance teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting
Load planning information into the financial systems (PlanIT & Gensight) during every forecast process and conduct data validation checks to ensure accuracy
Consolidate and create decks for leadership team meetings and monthly results reviews
Ensure quality and timeliness of the monthly reports, forecasts, and the annual budget / strategic plan preparation
Manage Daily Sales Reporting and sales outlook processes for the whole Americas region
Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, operations, R&D and others to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and timely
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the FP&A function and drive their implementation
Provide coaching, mentoring and collaboration to other finance team members within the FP&A organization
Coordinate escalation / identification of issues and advise Finance leadership of potential business and / or operational risks
What you'll bring
Excellent spoken and written English (C1 or up)
At least 6 years relevant experience in the area of FP&A
Degree in finance or any related field
Strong business acumen and judgment as well as understanding of relevant business environment.
Ability to effectively influence and drive consensus with diverse stakeholders; demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Decisive leadership, with ability to generate ideas, develop alternatives, rapidly decide upon best course of action and drive implementation of that decision
Ability to travel internationally as require
