The BAM group quantifies the mobility and energy impacts of emerging transportation technologies such as micromobility, on demand transit, electrified aviation and paradigms such as vehicle automation, electrification and sharing. They work with travel demand models, particularly integrating NREL developed tools such as the Mobility Energy Productivity (MEP) metric into those models. They collect and disseminate data through a variety of NREL developed tools. The BAM team applies advanced sensing and computation controls to the coordinated movement of vehicles on the road as well as people in large facilities. The GM will lead a group of researchers, project leaders, postdoctoral researchers, and/or student interns and support them from both a professional and technical perspective. Candidates must have a robust understanding of advanced transportation data and have experience in the execution of projects that advance the science and/or implementation of advanced transportation technologies. A portfolio of high-quality projects, proposals, business development, client management, and/or project management is required. The GM will create a culture of safety and quality. Within this context, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead group business development strategy, develop new group capabilities, hire resources as needed, lead personnel and guide/engage group staff. The successful candidate will work closely with the CIMS leadership as well as the leadership in across the Mechanical and Thermal Systems Directorate to create strategic vision for the group and the directorate. . **Basic Qualifications** Previous management and budget adherence experience may be required. Degree in appropriate field is required. Demonstrated knowledge of legal and ethical management issues and practices. In-depth knowledge of the issues and best practices in the applicable field of expertise. Generally viewed as subject matter expert for group or work units. Excellent organization, project management, budgeting, interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills.
