This new opportunity, hosted in Georgia’s oldest city, will report directly to the General Manager while working closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are looking for an energetic leader who will build on the success of our Broadcast and Digital sales team. A successful candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills, and business acumen with a high sense of urgency. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be visible in the station and in the community. The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving all revenue goals by building a plan, communicating that plan, and driving that plan.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceExcellent communication skills, both oral and written and must be a team playerThe desire to listen and learn from the team while also directing themMinimum 3 years’ experience managing and five years’ experience in media salesExperience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performanceExperience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve themAbility to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skillsStrong Digital acumen and willingness to push this side of the business for growthStrong understanding of Media Math, Positioning of Market Share, RTG’s/CPMs, and building creative packages to overachieve revenue goals.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordProficiency with Microsoft Office suite, WideOrbit, ComScore, Matrix, or similar CRM as well as business and broadcast software programs.Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
