As a Software Development Manager, you will be instrumental in leading and mentoring a talented team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining critical microservices that power our retail wireless platform. You'll play a key role in bringing new product services to life, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes. **Key Responsibilities:** + Guide and mentor software engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning through regular team meetings and one-on-ones. + Oversee the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. + Work closely with BSS/OSS SMEs, Technical, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of microservices. + Lead the development of innovative solutions, collaborating with architects and technical leads to identify and address solution gaps. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing development processes, code quality, and team efficiency while ensuring compliance with engineering standards. + Support senior management with strategic planning, rollout, and monitoring while providing regular updates on project status and team performance. **Skills, Experience and Requirements** The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams. Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus. **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field + 5+ years of experience in a technical management role, leading and mentoring software development teams + 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development using the following technologies: + Java/J2EE + Spring/SpringBoot + Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture + OpenAPIOpenAPIication + Amazon Web Services (AWS) + REAWSul APIs and API ManAPIment tools (e.g., Apigee, AWS APIAWStAPIy) **Skills and Qualifications:** + Deep understanding and hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies. + Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools, specifically Docker and Kubernetes. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for professional interactions with employees, customers, and suppliers. + Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively, manage capacity, and create project roadmaps. + Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, maintaining effectiveness under pressure. + Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, counseling, and mentorship to team members. **Salary Ranges** Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year **Benefits** We offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits .
