Manager Indirect Procurement

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Manager Indirect Procurement within our Purchasing team to help support our Automotive business.  Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry?  That’s right!  Our automotive products fall into four primary groups:  Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

 

As a Manager Indirect Procurement, you will have the opportunity to Lead the development of regional procurement strategies for all indirect categories, optimizing cost, quality, and supporting the ongoing business and strategic priorities.

Major Actions and Support Actions

Lead the development of regional procurement strategies for all indirect categories, optimizing cost, quality, and supports ongoing business and strategic priorities. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stake holders; secure cross functional buy in to Category strategies, develop comprehensive communication and execution plans. Execute regional contracts reflecting the results of sourcing initiatives that adequately manage business and supply risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions Working with operations to identify areas within the region of sub-optimized cost and value, and implement actions to address such areas. Lead the SRM initiative with suppliers; foster performance based relationships through a process of ongoing business reviews to ensure suppliers are performing to contractual obligations and meeting stakeholder expectations.

 

Educational requirements, Certifications:

Successfully completed technical or business degree with a strong technical understanding or an equivalent education.

 

Experience:

• First professional experience in international procurement and technical products in the automotive industry.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Good communication ability and excellent negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and pronounced solution orientation as well as in global teams across different departments Result oriented Fluency in English is mandatory, additional languages are preferable (e.g. local language). Good Excel and Power Point skills as well as experience in Business Intelligence-Software. Willingness for international travel and intercultural understanding - Global Mindset Basic knowledge of commercial contract law Customer-oriented thinking and acting as well as high adherence to timelines Understanding of the processes according to ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience in interpreting and analysing a CBD
