Kettering Health Dayton, formerly Grandview Medical Center, has been providing care to Dayton and surrounding communities for over 90 years.Over 20 specialties, including orthopedics, heart and vascular, surgery, and trauma services.KH Dayton expanded their Emergency Department as well as their heart & vascular services to include an additional catheterization lab and electrophysiology lab.Partners with Gem City Market to provide fresh fruits and vegetables every Tuesday within the hospital. One of the largest osteopathic teaching hospitals in the United States.371 bed facilityOver the past several years, KH Dayton has received many awards, including: Top 100 HospitalPatient Safety Excellence Award from Health grades in 2019.Received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States. Responsibilities & Requirements

Provides management and support in the development, training, and implementation of KHN Infection Prevention and Control Program striving for One Best Practice across all KHN Facilities.  Serves as knowledge expert in infection prevention and control practices, processes, surveillance methodologies, products, equipment, policies, and regulatory and accreditation standards.  With the Network Director Clinical Outcomes, Patient Safety and Infection control and the Network Medical Director of Patient Safety provides oversite and direction to the facilities Infection Prevention and Control programs to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and HFAP requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

Requires knowledge of epidemiology and application of public health practices in an acute care hospital environment, with the goal of implementing effective and efficient procedures and policies to combat disease transmission among hospital patients and staff.Oversight, support and expert guidance to the facility Infection Prevention and Control Teams for management of the prevention, investigation, monitoring and reporting of the spread of diseases. Oversite to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements related to IPC.Oversight for review and revision of Network Infection Control PoliciesIdentifies facility policies that should be combined to be Network Policies as well as need for additional policies.Identifies opportunities for group or individual IPC education regarding infection control protocols and policies.Uses scientific research to recommend, implement and monitor policies and procedures for hospital staff regarding sterilization, disinfection and decontamination of personnel, instruments and equipment.Utilizes organizational resources to act as an advocate for the safe and timely delivery of care with accountability for integrating services that facilitate One Best Practice for patient care. Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related Healthcare fieldTwo years of progressive supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership and management skillsMaintains competencies & skills of Infection Prevention and ControlAbility to communicate effectively, written and oralAbility to evaluate statistical data for use in planning and monitoring outcomesAbility to work under stressful situationsProven skills in developing high performance teamsProven skills in facilitating performance improvement teams to achieve best in class resultsActive Ohio Registered Nurse or MLT (ASCP CertificationCertified Infection Prevention and Control – required

Work Environment
