Family Description

Product, Portfolio & Solution Management (PP) covers the provision of input to the complete set of all products / services related to design, production, maintenance, and termination information processes. Ensures the optimal allocation of resources between different products / services and areas of potential improvement to balance the products / services mix and maintain alignment between Nokia's products / services and the overall business strategy. Ensures a successful launch of the products / services in the market applying go-to-market strategy. Translates key market, business and customer needs into products / services and solutions.

Subfamily Description

Portfolio Management (PMA) comprises the strategic managing of the whole Nokia portfolio as a collection of portfolio packages and products. Covers translation of Nokia's business strategy into mid- to long-term strategic plans of specific portfolios and their respective portfolio items through continuous analyses of market trends and existing Nokia portfolio. Contains identification of potential new portfolio items via screening of markets, competitors, and customer requirements as well as the understanding of the overall market and the translation of the knowledge into defining the portfolio and its structure.

 

Impact

Impact is short-term and usually departmental/project in scope. Accountable for quality, accuracy and efficiency of own and/or team achievements. Actions and errors can have program, project, functional impact.

Scope & Contribution

Individual Contributor: Performs and/or coordinates day-to-day activities to meet departmental/project objectives. Carries out root/cause analysis in more complex problems. Can develop and implement recommendations. Managerial/Supervisory: Direct supervisory responsibilities for people. Typically first level (and lowest level) of solid line management. Carries out variety of complex activities according to plan within broader area of responsibility, analyses problems. Decision-making typically according to established solutions.

Knowledge & Experience

Management experience / Achieved advanced skills and knowledge within a specific professional discipline involving the integration of theory and principles with organisational practices and precedents. Typically requires 4-6 years relevant experience and/or a graduate equivalent (or higher) degree.

 



• Contributes to effective alignment among sales team, business groups and customers on technology. 

• Captures competitive feedback and interface with business groups to improve product portfolio.

• Provides technology trend insights and-related value argumentation to support sales activities in the market.

• Provides leadership and expertise in planning and implementing product portfolio strategy. 

• Works effectively in a mixed environment and uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. 

• Shares initial ideas for professional direction of own organisational unit.

• Acts as a professional advisor and mentor for staff / workteam / taskforces.

• May lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements or small teams, handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work.
