Summary:
The Manager of IT Systems Engineering is responsible for maintaining the Tidelands technological infrastructure, and day-to-day operations of our systems engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of a multi-year IT infrastructure roadmap, considering technological advancements and evolving organizational needs.
Maintains information systems by planning, monitoring, and coordinating employees.
Participates in planning and designing technologies to meet the growing needs of the business.
Maintaining efficient relationships with other department heads to determine their technology needs.
Leading the problem-solving activities to ensure core systems are meeting expectations and planning for the advancement of legacy solutions
Proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies or optimize existing ones, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Maintain current and future cloud environments including Azure and Microsoft365 suites, ensuring configurations match organizational workflows, data compliance needs, and collaboration requirements.
Drive the continuous monitoring, optimization, and fine-tuning of Tidelands IT systems, paying particular attention to security configurations and user permissions.
Manage the full life cycle of VMWare virtual environments, from design to deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
Monitor virtual system health, ensuring optimized resource allocation, seamless migrations, and fault tolerance.
Oversee the architectural design, deployment, and robustness of primary systems and solutions, ensuring they cater to remote work demands, application accessibility, and scalability concerns.
Design and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data redundancy, quick recovery, and compliance with retention policies.
Guide the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructures, with an emphasis on scalability, resilience, and high-availability design principles.
Analyze metrics, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure peak performance, zero downtime, and security.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to institute best practices, conduct regular vulnerability assessments, and drive security awareness initiatives.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and accountability within the IT team; providing mentorship, facilitating training opportunities, and setting clear performance metrics.
Drive regular team syncs, brainstorming sessions, and retrospective meetings to ensure alignment and stimulate feedback-driven improvements.
Interface with various department heads, ensuring IT initiatives resonate with their objectives, challenges, and operational demands.
Translate business requirements into technological solutions, bridging any communication gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Cultivate robust relationships with key technology vendors, ensuring we leverage the best of their offerings, stay updated on product roadmaps, and negotiate favorable terms.
Oversee vendor performance, ensuring SLAs are consistently met and exploring opportunities for further collaboration or optimization.
Develop a comprehensive dashboard to track key IT metrics, system health indicators, and performance benchmarks.
Maintain rigorous documentation standards, ensuring every configuration, policy change, and infrastructure blueprint is well-documented and accessible.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
7 years hands-on experience in the areas of architecting, designing, and managing enterprise systems

Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex security topics to a varied audience.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
May require after-hours support and occasional travel.
