Manager/Lead Engineer, Global Services
Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Safety:Drive continuous improvement in safety across the GTD team.Participate in HAZOPs, risk identification, and mitigation activities with EPC contractors, package vendors, and customers.Empower the Global Services Team:Ensure that LT commercial and demo sites are effectively staffed to safely, efficiently, and cost effectively commissioned and brought to full capacity.Manage and empower an international team of experienced, motivated Global Services engineers. Fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.Ensure new members of Global Services and other supporting teams are properly trained on LanzaTech Technology and Procedures.Advance LT Technical Capabilities and Packages:Act as a liaison between commercial sites and engineering R&D programs to frame observations into testable hypotheses.Lead the integration of LanzaTech technical field expertise with the design and execution of plants.Offer remote and on-site support for commercial and demonstration facilities.Lead Global Service Project Coordination and Quality Assurance:Support all aspects of Customer Engagement, Product, and Service Delivery.Work closely with Business Opportunity Managers/Project Managers and engineering/design teams to deliver projects on time and within target cost.For LanzaTech supplied equipment, work with the Site Chief and Project Manager to ensure equipment and site preparedness as well as timely delivery, and commissioning.Champion Change and Deviation Management:Identify sources of risk in designs, procedures, and operations on the ground.Support the closure of any pending deviations from Engineering phases and update the deviations register.Support the Chief in determining and communicating upgrades and problems to the customer, including consequences and proposed solutions.Drive consistency, quality, and urgency in customer reporting, including RCA and technical notes.Leads the continuous improvement efforts of LanzaTech’s Global Services Infrastructure and tools to address customers’ needs and productivity within LanzaTech within budget and meeting quality standards.Position RequirementsMinimum 4 yr. Engineering Degree (Chemical, Petroleum, or related field) with 8 yrs. or greater years of relevant professional experience.Strong project management skills, with a proven record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering on complex technical projects.Strong skills with Microsoft Office and experience with relevant software tools such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Visio, process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD), and data analysis tools.Self-motivated, curious, and collaborative individual with a can-do attitude and strong professionalism. Detail-oriented and flexible with effective problem-solving abilities. Experience in working on sites employing industrial safety practices such as PSM and participating in PSM related activities (HAZOPs, PSSR, etc.).Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and other BEP documents.
Preferred Knowledge/SkillsDeep working knowledge of the complete project lifecycle (BD/Sales, TEA, BEP, FEED, EPC, Operations, etc.).Demonstrated experience in project execution, supporting plant operations, and capital project development and management.Experience managing and developing international teams.Working knowledge of process instrumentation, control valves, and the use of PLC/DCS systems.Ability to work on multiple and simultaneous projects in a global, fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting where priorities may change quickly.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentUp to 25% domestic and international travel is required.Able to work at industrial sites for project needs.Able to work in a general office and desk environment, and on a computer for long durations.----

The salary range for this role takes into account a variety of factors considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. At LanzaTech, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, as compensation decisions are based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000.
