Manager Materials Handling (M/F/D) (Ref: 2506235220W) YOUR responsibilities & YOUR impact: Aim of this role + Manages all material related activities within GMP Operations for batch production to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Manages all material movements for drug substances and drug products to meet the business needs for pre-clinical through commercial supplies. General Activities + Individual contributor who is a developing subject matter expert, who works independently with minimal supervision. + Consults on projects, programs, and processes that span multiple related areas in support of the organization's overall Materials Handling strategy. + Applies in-depth knowledge of the Materials Handling field to install best of class policies, procedures, and plans for the area. + Acts as a top-level specialist, managing projects, programs or processes for the Materials Handling area. + Establishes programs and innovative initiatives for the organization to advance Materials Handling capabilities. + Develops actionable insights through analyses of trends and the competitive landscape to continually improve the organization's Materials Handling strategy. + Implements systems to support materials, inventory, and package transportation shipping to proactively advance Materials Handling operations. + Benchmarks business need to ensure adherence to all established safety rules and regulations, informing leadership of any deviations. + Coaches and trains junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities. + Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into personal goals and decision making. + Coaches individual contributors and/or people leaders, and is accountable for conducting effective material management within GMP Operations. + Develops tactical and operational plans for the Materials Handling SMEs and supports organizational objectives and business goals. + Allocates together with the people leaders resources to meet objectives and goals of the Materials Handling area. + Coordinates initiatives related to material handlings within GMP Operations and serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. + Communicates direction for Materials Handling processes to managers, Team leaders, and individual contributors (SMEs), and ensures methods align with organizational goals and objectives. + Collaborates with the production planning team to ensure product availability on the production floor. + The responsibilities of the job holder will include managing the day-to-day material flow within GMP operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, optimizing processes for efficiency and productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in his area. + Leads and coordinates the material flow with measurable contribution towards the achievement of short-term department results. + Assists with technical problems within his/her area of responsibility and ensures that remedial actions are taken whenever improvements are needed. + Manages material handling flow to ensure successful transformation of raw materials into products (cell banks, virus seeds, drug substances and drug products) for all programs within production from early stage to commercial + Ensures that manufactured products are stored according to the appropriate documentation to obtain the required quality. + Accountable for proper operating of all material handling process. Inventory, Qualification, NCs/CPAs, and validations of the material s consumed within GMP Operations. + Pursue cost-effective material usage through continuous improvements, e.g. by eliminating non-value adding steps (focusing on e.g. first-time-right/zero-deviation manufacturing) + Makes sure training plans are aligned with areas in need of improvement. Reviews and approves standard operational and working procedures related to material handlings. + Maintains raw material, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory levels relative to demand. + Assists in the development of manufacturing cost control reports, cost estimates, capacity planning, manpower and facility requirements. + Tracks key performance metrics.
