As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. The Mechanical Engineering Manager will manage the planning and completion of mechanical engineering projects, including the design and development of new product. **What You’ll Work On** + Manages mechanical engineering staff regarding project prioritization, process validations, and continuous improvements + Manages the design analysis on components and/or assemblies to develop process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable. + Manages staff in the design, development, and testing of select new products. + Implement and manage resource planning and project management tools + Support equipment enhancements/changes and ensures successful transition to manufacturing + Monitor and evaluate project and department progress and results + Participate in cross-functional teams + Work with internal departments and external vendors to obtain prototypes and to expand these groups capabilities + Review and approve protocol and written reports + Drive continuous improvement of mechanical engineering technical capabilities + Prepare technical reports, analysis, recommendations and presentations reflecting the status and results of projects in progress on a regular basis + Coach, manage and develop technical staff + Prepare departmental budgets and control expenditures to stay within spending limits + Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements + Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned. **Required Qualifications** + BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field + 5+ years manufacturing experience, with 2 years of people management experience + Solidworks/Creo or other CAD experience **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with statistical techniques (e.g., DOE, SPC) + Solid people management and communication skills + Solid knowledge of GMP, ISO regulations. + Prior experience in medical device manufacturing preferred + Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain highly competent employees + Open to or experienced in the latest design tools and techniques (ie, Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturability, Analytical Design) + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. + Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results. + Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment. + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. + Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. + Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable. + Ability to travel approximately 15%, including internationally.
