The Manager Mission Assurance 1 will be responsible for defining and monitoring mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance, which will include the following responsibilities:
Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs)Build and develop a diverse and inclusive team with high levels of engagementMentor and coach subordinatesWork closely with other team members such as engineering, global supply chain, test, integration, logistics, or manufacturingEnsure that projects are completed on time following established procedures and schedulesCorrective action review and reporting to include monitoring status of corrective and preventive actions and tracking through closure, reviewing/analyzing defect data, monitoring test problem report data and closure status, monitoring causal analysis and resolutionChampion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the businessParticipate in Risk Management process and support team in identification of risksEarned Value Management System/Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities include planning, coordination, and achievement of all work within a Control Account. CAM will be authority for all scope, technical and cost issues for the control accountMust be able to work on-site in Huntsville, AlabamaPosition is in Huntsville, AL with travel to other Northrop Grumman sites, supplier sites, or customer sites as requiredQualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in one or more areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a Master's Degree AND 3 years; of related professional/ military experience in one or more areas Engineering Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a High School Diploma AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in one or more areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality AssuranceExperience in any combination of Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, Quality, or other STEM/engineering disciplines accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving to include root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.An ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the organization as required to accomplish the team goalsWorking knowledge of staffing, quality engineering metrics and training resources, processes, and toolsMonitors work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt employees daily and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates using established policies, procedures, and practicesMust have ability to obtain and maintain a secret DOD clearanceMust have the ability to travel up to 25% domesticallyPreferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in People and Technical Leadership rolesDemonstrated track record as an effective collaborator, communicator, and problem solver able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCommitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing businessProven technical management experience preferably in either program IPT, R&D or Advanced Systems, technology, and/ or functional environmentsExperience effectively leading diverse technical teamsISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditorLean Six Sigma certificationAgile MethodologiesFamiliar with AS9102 and AS6500Familiar with SAPAdvanced Excel skillsActive DOD Secret Security ClearanceAerospace and Defense Industry experienceSalary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
