As a Manager Network Operations you will perform this position in the GSD NOC on U.S. Government owned networks.

The Main Responsibilities Manage a shift staff for 24x7 Enterprise NOC for management of Federal customers and networks pertaining to private long-haul DWDM, regional, metro and international servicesProvides technical management and support to NOC technicians, provides level II escalation support, ensure operational guidelines are followed to conform to Government customer contractual requirements and SLAs for service assurance and restoration.Responsible for customer communication and interface, incident/outage reports, ticket audits. Develops and implements processes and procedures.Interface directly with Layer I/II equipment vendors, 3rd party fiber providers on complex technical matters Train, develop and coach NOC technicians. Assess staff technical development and formulate training plans in concert with Technical Support Engineers.Determine shift manpower requirements, implement quality control documentation and perform routine auditsAnalyze and assess new project requirements and develop/implement processes and procedures with supporting documentationManage multiple issues simultaneously through effective prioritization and delegation.Collaborate closely with Federal Program Management Offices and Leadership Compile performance metrics, reports, trend analysis for Federal customer servicesManage high profile government transport networks, to include proactive network surveillance, alarm/network irregularities & outages/restorations, internal & external escalationsSupport provisioning and testing of Layer 1 optical services, DWDM wavelengths), OTN, DWDM backbone networks, Ethernet (E-Line, E-LAN) and IP services to include MPLS, TCP/IP, QoSEnsure timely response and resolution of network alarms and events by staff. Serve as technical subject matter expert to support day-to-day network issues, new network commissioning, configuration, testing, implementation and service provisioningDirect alt-routing contingency plans Manage scheduled and emergency maintenance activities, review and assure EDP and as-built documentation is disseminated to NOC staffRecommend and develop strategies relating to process and customer interface improvements What We Look For in a Candidate Previous NOC management experience of 5 years, along with demonstrated abilities serving in a Lead NOC roleMinimum of 5+ years’ experience with SONET based, long-haul and metro transport networks, next-generation DWDM wavelength systems, Ethernet, VPLS, IP, MPLS Must possess demonstrated leadership profile to oversee shift personnel, escalations, professional interaction skills with customers and managementAbility to relate technical issues to staff and Gov’t customersPrior experience with Transport suite of optical network equipment and Data platforms Previous experience with routers, IP protocols, configurations, interfaces is strongly preferredAnalyze, test and repair Layer 2/3 network problems. Ensure services conform to customer mandated SLAs for latency, packet loss, jitter, throughput. Ability to test using standard protocols, as well as Iperf and Brix platforms.Must be able to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously, react quickly through effective prioritization and delegation in a high stress environmentDemonstrated ability to train, coach and develop technical skill set of shift techniciansPrevious experience with Gov’t networks and customers. Ability to interface in a professional manner with management, Program Offices and customers is essentialFlexibility with regard to work levels and shift accommodation is imperativeAssociate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, or Networks; or a related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience. Seven or more years applicable work experience.On-call support and flexibility to work on other shifts as requiredMinimal travel requiredCompensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. $108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO
