Position Summary:

Assumes twenty-four (24) hour responsibility for the coordination of quality care in a safe, convenient, timely and efficient manner to patients/families. Collaborates with the Director, department personnel, medical staff, and various administrative staff in planning for and providing quality and consistent patient care/services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Facilitate unit organization and management within established policies and procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters, productivity, fire and safety regulations, and other department-specific requirements.

* Function as a role model by maintaining effective working relationships with all members of the hospital and medical staff through cooperation, coordination, and mutual respect.

* Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

* Coaches and facilitates the growth, development, and engagement of employees within the department including employee competencies and annual performance appraisals.

* Manages daily operations to achieve the safety, quality, experience, and financial goals for the department.

* Strives for continuous improvement by focusing on key department systems and goals.
