Compensation: $115,000 - $125,000

Actual salaries will be based on candidates qualifications, competencies, experience and geographic location. .

Summary

At MOD, you will be a key leader in overseeing and leading our general ledger team. The accounting manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining an accurate general ledger, ensuring timely financial reporting during month-end close and leading the development of our accounting team. This role requires a strong foundation of accounting principles, attention to detail, collaboration with stakeholders cross-functionally and views challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles. This role reports to the Controller.

Work Location and Schedule Expectations

The Manager of Accounting is a hybrid position. At MOD this means that 60% of your time is spent working onsite in our Support Center located in Bellevue, Washington. Seattle Area residents are required to meet this expectation with three days a week in partnership with your team. Your schedule is a standard business day and has flexibility to come in early or stay late based on your personal and work demands. 
 

Key Responsibilities Ensure an accurate and timely month-end close, including review of accounts, recording of accruals and variance analysis. Present results to stakeholders as a part of the review process. Prepare period-end financial statements and management reporting packages Supervise the MOD general ledger accounting team to ensure all deadlines are met, including advising staff on accounting and reporting transactions Be an active voice for the accounting team when collaborating cross-functionally when initiatives or new programs are in the planning phase Prepare monthly and quarterly credit compliance calculations Manage fixed assets, inventory and cash accounting processes Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the team Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit Assist Technology with system implementations, as applicable to accounting and finance Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance professional development of staff
  Basic Qualifications

Minimum two years of experience managing an accounting team
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements and ability to interpret technical accounting concepts and topics
Technologically savvy with excellent Excel skills
Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage multiple priorities
Willingness to approach tasks hands-on and balance requirements of preparing and reviewing key deliverables
A high degree of problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP
