Manager of Adult Day Services & Memory Care

As a Manager of Adult Day Services & Memory Care, your duties would include but are not limited to:
Leadership
Provide direction, training, and daily supervision to all members of the Adult Day Services (ADS) Program, including Program Assistants, Registered Nurse, ADS Case Manager, and any students/volunteers in the ADS program.Support departmental goal achievement through the direction and management of the daily operations of the department.Direct and monitor the performance of the staff to assure that the environment is safe and that supplies and equipment are adequate.Ensure effective staff coverage is available and review and approve staff time off requests.Foster staff development by encouraging them to pursue certifications and continued education opportunities as appropriate.Provide timely and thorough communication to ADS staff members.Recognize staff members regularly for positive results achieved and counsel/coach staff as needed, confronting in a positive, problem-solving manner and in accordance with Turnstone policies.Develop and sustain an atmosphere conducive to high morale, self-esteem and appreciation of co-workers.Ensure and support decision making relevant to Turnstone’s mission, vision and strategic plan.Respond positively to changing circumstances to maximize opportunities and minimize problems.Think innovatively to continue to build and grow an effective and efficient program.Assume an advocacy role on behalf of people with disabilities, build a network with other community resources, and educate the public regarding agency services and disabilities.Client Care
Coordinate and schedule the activities and meetings of the ADS program.Develop positive relationships with clients, families and support staff.Provide support to Program Assistants as-needed by providing direct client care if short-staffed, if client needs escalate, or in emergency situations. (This may include duties such as running group activities, providing supervision to clients, assisting with personal needs such as transfers, feeding, bathroom care, etc.)Schedule and participate in in-service training and conferences for families and staff.Pursue continuing education opportunities to keep informed of new developments and resources related to ADS and Memory Care programs.Assist with Caregiver Coaching and Behavior Management (CCBM) as necessary.Administration
Utilize the electronic health records system effectively and efficiently.Submit charges in the electronic health records system within 72 hrs of the day of service.Adhere to the Turnstone Confidentiality Policy which includes verbal, written, computer generated, computer accessed, filmed and recorded information related to clients, their family, visitors and staff. Be responsible for the protection of confidentiality of data at all times, and uphold the agency and professional Code of Ethics.Complete any department-required administrative functions and agency reports as needed.May complete other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.Skills
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and plan.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to interact with clients, families and caregivers in a compassionate and respectful manner.Knowledge of person-centered care and service planning.Displays an understanding of the diverse cultural, emotional, and physical needs of clients.Understanding of health and safety protocols.Ability to make independent decisions within the scope of duties.Light to moderate lifting.Schedule & Work Environment
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Some schedule flexibility may be necessary at times )Will spend time both at a desk, in the ADS program, and moving around the facility.Required Qualifications
3+ years of direct-care experience in an aging and/or disability services organization.1+ years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.Knowledge of caring for adults with disabilities. Knowledge around Alzheimer’s and Dementia support is a plus.Current CPR and First Aid Certification.Willingness to obtain an IAADS Certification within the first 6 months of employment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience overseeing an adult program in a disability services organization.Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance billing. Apply
