Position Overview:
LifeSTEPS is seeking a Manager of Business Development to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for all aspects of managing requests for LifeSTEPS’ services, including responding to incoming calls from low-income real estate developers; constructing social service plans; creating budgets and staffing plans, negotiating service contracts, and responding to formal requests for proposals from various governmental agencies seeking to build affordable housing communities. This position requires strong analytic, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote a culture of organizational excellence using LifeSTEPS’ values through the Oz Principles. Report to the Executive Director regarding all activities and duties. Manage Business Relationships: Facilitate and negotiate relationships with real estate developers, governmental agencies, and property management companies regarding resident service programs. Proposal Development: Respond to RFPs and develop comprehensive service plans for low-income, multi-family housing communities. Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and other leadership to develop housing and service strategies and ensure alignment with LifeSTEPS’ mission and values. Program Innovation: Conduct research to identify and develop new, innovative programs aimed at supporting vulnerable populations. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key real estate developers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen LifeSTEPS' reach and impact. Fundraising & Marketing: Collaborate with the Fund Development team to create marketing materials, external communications, and outreach strategies to engage stakeholders and support fundraising efforts. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that social service programs meet both developer and funding source requirements and address resident needs. Advocacy: Champion housing policies that support long-term affordability and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
