Job Summary
We are seeking exceptional candidates with proven discipline, drive, and commitment who are focused on winning new business and retaining clients for our team. The Manager of Business Development will manage a team of Producers responsible for expanding the company’s client base and managing the existing book of business. This position will manage all activities related to the department and perform the duties outlined below.

What You'll Do Assist in identifying new business opportunities, expand our book of businessSolicit and sell insurance products and services to existing and prospective clientsProvide service to existing client base throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and South CarolinaBuild long term relationships with prospective clients, existing clients, and COIsDirectly manage a book of business, as neededScore client & prospect meetings, track and measuring pipeline movementEvaluate conference opportunities within the market and assign attendance by appropriate personnelWork with existing PGB teams & existing clients to identify cross selling opportunitiesHire, train, develop, and motivate the sales teamAnalyze and organize departmental operations, procedures, and structureSuggest and implement process and procedural improvements as needed to drive departmental efficienciesParticipate in new product development committeeDocument processes for the various levels in the department in a centralized locationCollaborate with other company managers to implement and assess procedures, evaluate efficiencies, and propose new initiativesMonitor & measure individual team member results, and provide continuous, constructive feedback to ensure their successAssign team personnel’s book of business and adjust as necessaryTrain staff on bid management, crafting bid responses, and delivery of finalist presentationsTravel with department personnel to client and prospect visits, conferences, benefit fairs, and other client facing meetingsAssist team members with generating leads and building relationships with clients and key partnersDemonstrate familiarity with insurance products and terminology regarding employee benefits and train department personnelOther duties as assignedTravel is expected to be 50% in this role
