*POSITION SUMMARY*
The Business Operations Manager supports the operational performance of all service lines or business units in their area of responsibility. Provides leadership, planning and direction to ensure business objectives and operational/efficiency metrics are achieved. Oversees the function of the Facilities and Construction Operations team including responsibilities for finance, procurement, software administration, data analysis/reporting and regulatory compliance. Works collaboratively with the Business Operations Director and other members of the Leadership Team to assess and monitor performance to key operating targets.
*PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES*
1. Supervises non-clinical service line associates including responsibilities for finance, procurement, software administration, data analysis/reporting and regulatory compliance. Mentors and provides training and assistance to direct reports, peers, and customers as necessary.
2. Engages with service line operations team and leadership to accomplish aligned goals and initiatives.
3. Through direct reports, oversees the financial cycle, from purchase to payment, of operational and capital expenses for their assigned service lines. Serves as the liaison between system supply chain and product vendors for trials, product issues, implementation, and operational outcomes. Participates in the value analysis process and oversees purchase of new supply items.
4. Oversees the department’s contracting process from request for proposal to contract execution, including management of contracts to completion of deliverables, in collaboration with legal, contract supply chain and members of the members of the leadership team.
5. Prepares analysis of service line variance reports to monitor expenses. Performs cost benefit analysis for new requests. Identifies and develops initiatives to continually drive down costs.
6. Acts as a liaison with IT to ensure computer equipment, network equipment, and software applications remain in optimal working condition.
7. Leads activities related to the maintenance and implementation of computerized database systems to meet the business goals, technical goals and user needs of the Facilities & Construction department. Serves as the IDN content expert and works collaboratively with system administrators to ensure efficient and effective data is available for reports and decision-making.
8. Acts as a key resource for all operational, efficiency and financial metrics within their assigned service lines. Provides statistical data and analysis used in the development of best practices. Develops process improvement procedures and ensures strategic alignment of data reporting to address inefficiencies in operations.
9. Collects and presents data and analytical reports to departmental leaders and service line committees to help measure department performance. (E.g. efficiency metrics, volume reports, profitability analysis, etc.)
10. Participates in programs to comply with Joint Commission, AHCA, NFPA, OSHA, and all other regulatory agency requirements and participates in regulatory agency surveys and inspections as appropriate.
*LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES*
1. Demonstrates support and compliance with the Health System’s mission, vision, value philosophy, goals, objectives and policies and procedures.
2. Manage selection, hiring, on-boarding and performance management of direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, developing, and evaluating performance to increase workforce capability while achieving department objectives.
3. Communicate and comply with federal, state, governing regulatory and Health First policies and procedures, including by not limited to, people and systems, to minimize risk.
4. Monitor individual and department productivity and has authority to modify schedules and work assignments to ensure goals established by leader is met.
5. Assists in development of projected staffing models to ensure adequate resources are available to meet actual volume targets. Establishes appropriate peer group comparisons and benchmark targets to ensure productivity management.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
* Education: Associate’s degree in related field. (5 years’ experience in a business or operations position; 2 years’ experience leading cross functional teams; and willing to complete Associate’s degree program within agreed upon timeline, accepted in lieu of degree)

* Work Experience: Two years management experience in a relevant professional environment in a progressively responsible role.
* Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Must be able to analyze and interpret data and use Lean/Quality improvement tools.
o Must have strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
o Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
o Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, and To Do/Planner.

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
* Licensure: n/a
* Certification: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
* Work Experience: Four years management experience in a relevant professional and clinical environment in a progressively responsible role is preferred.
* Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
* Must be in good physical condition and without assistance must be able to lift, move or push equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
* Must be able to sit for two hours or more before a computer and concentrate on complex projects.
* Able to travel to any work location within Health First on short notice.
* Must be able to stand for two hours or more while observing work tasks.
