Starting Pay - $49.17 - $61.47 (Based on Experience)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field required Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or management preferred Minimum of three years of management or supervisory experience ASC experience preferred Experience obtaining and maintaining Medicare Certification through Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care or The Joint Commission Familiar with licensure requirements for healthcare employees ACLS and BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Proficient computer skills, including Epic, Staff Scheduling, and Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations Ability to author reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of OMC leaders, clients, customers, and physicians Must possess the ability to make decisions independently as needed

 

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Acumen

Develops, analyzes, and maintains departmental budgets. Exhibits a strong understanding of profit and loss, contribution margins, and expense and staffing variance to make meaningful corrections. Including timely submission of variance reports with corrective action, review of staffing with changes correlating to clinician production, and anticipation of needs for budgeting. Researches and prepares cost reduction proposals and implements them as applicable.

Organizational Support

Provides leadership, support, and guidance in supporting company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Participates in the development of the strategic goals, plans, and objectives ensuring alignment with those of the organization. Develops proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality. Develops appropriate admission and discharge procedures and assures that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met. Evaluates ongoing patient care and reports significant patient problems to appropriate team members. Plans, evaluates, recommends, and implements new initiatives when appropriate. Assures compliance with all Clinic & ASC policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to: Controlled substances and legend drugs. Infection control. Patient confidentiality. BLS, ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Plant Operations, Compliance and Human Resources. Quality improvement and quality assurance Emergency codes and evacuation Professional licensure Department of Health, Medicare JCAHO/AAAHC, and all other voluntary and regulatory requirements. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers, and physicians. Assists with the development of patient education material. Supports and promotes a positive image of Olmsted Medical Center when dealing with patients and others inside and outside the organization. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues Utilizes a cooperative approach to address clinician, staff, and patient concerns. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations.

Communication/Supervision of Others

Mentors’ departmental leads and holds them accountable for department budgets and goals. Provides leadership, support, and coaching for departmental leads to effectively manage. Ensures departments and leads activities are in alignment with strategic initiatives. Addresses clinician issues collaboratively with dyad partner when necessary for department improvements and compliance. Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.

Risk Management

Practices risk management strategies in ensuring that departments are practicing safe patient care and resolving issues quickly and effectively. Ensures employees are working in a safe environment by minimizing their risk for injury or illness.

Development and Growth

Responsible for developing business plans for new service lines in collaboration with the operational leadership team [department chair, director, division chair, Chief Operating Officer (COO)]. Works with the finance department as necessary to assist with Return on Investment for capital equipment and new services. Provides creative and innovative thought in developing service lines and seeking efficiencies through quality methodologies. Engages in reading and seminars to ensure knowledge is relevant to the movement of healthcare in the United States (government initiatives, mandates, best practices, safety, and quality). Other duties as assigned.
