Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for posting all social media content daily on all current and new platforms including video, graphics, headlines and both short and long form copy.   This position also assists in the development & creation of new engaging content ideas around the team and players.  Additionally, this position will assist in creating a content strategy based on platform and outlet for team and branded content. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Lead team member to post all content on each team platform including video, graphics, memes, copy and moreWork closely with Director of Content to build out year round strategic content plan based on increased engagement and growthBuild content plans around key team tentpole momentsManage and curate all photo and related content materialsManage Graphic Designer day-to-day including the output of graphic content as needed for all team departmentsDevelop new creative content ideasWork with marketing, tickets, sponsorship and community departments to create and post content as needed including the monetization of contentIdentify emerging social media and content platforms and recommend growth into new platforms as neededAssist and add to team related community game night / theme night initiativesCoordinate any social / team initiatives with the WNBA as neededMonitor and compile all social media analytics to create action items for growthManage and monitor advertising spend analytics for efficiencies to maximize spend

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Bachelors’ Degree in communications, liberal arts, or related fieldMinimum 4 years working within a sports team marketing and/or social media teamIn depth working knowledge of all social media platforms and analyticsExtreme attention to detail and consistencyExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to work independently as well as within a teamPossess strong knowledge and passion of the sports industry, and future trends and opportunities shaping itAbility to be collaborative and work within a team environmentIntermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and OutlookIn lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, 8 years of experience working within the social media field

Competencies:  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and proceduresUnderstanding of league and Mohegan Sun media protocolsEffective utilization of Mohegan Sun Evaluation programsThorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to travel overnight and have dependable transportationMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
