What Will You Do?
The Omni Channel Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing logistics processes, solutions, and creating partnerships to determine the most effective method of delivery to the home consumer. This position will provide leadership to the overall integrations of e-commerce fulfillment, including vendor drop-ship. Additionally, this position will provide direction, guidance and judgment for new project initiatives such as developing new service parameters, onboarding new carriers and regional vendors and manage priorities in order to ensure business requirements are being met. This position requires an understanding of all direct-to-consumer business functions with regard to fulfillment center, final mile, and transportation operations and systems
Responsibilities:
Negotiate freight rates and delivery contracts with parcel delivery carriers and final mile carriers. Responsible for creating and monitoring performance metrics for parcel and final mile delivery carriers and addressing issues or concerns with the carriers across all service levels for both domestic and international shipments.Gather information from multiple systems and sources and make recommendations to increase speed to market and reduce cost of our parcel and final mile shipment networks through the use of analytics and continuous improvement tools to develop a solution design strategy and implementation.Manage and coordinate the rollout of rate shopping functionality to all business units that use parcel delivery. This includes RPC Centers in all company locations, e-commerce processing areas in all wholesale and retail facilities, manufacturing areas, and all other back office users throughout the Ashley Companies.Manage and oversee returns and reverse logistics of parcel and final mile deliveries; determine financial feasibility of returning the item, where the item returns to and the mode of return; audit to ensure the return of the item.Collaborate directly with the Packaging Engineering Group to address overpack needs based on damage and claims from the e-commerce work stream.Responsible for logistics modeling, planning, execution and auditing of nationwide deliveries from both enterprise and licensee locations. This includes Dimension (DIM) negotiations, residential pricing, zone skipping, and accessorial cost management.Develop and maintain process flow documentation and general operational flows of all logistics processes. Communicate updates and changes to all internal and external partners.Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials. Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
Job Qualifications
· 8+ years of experience in business processes/program management/fulfillment operations, preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent work experience, required (examples include Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, ext.).
· MBA or related master’s degree in business related field, preferred.
· Experience with Ecommerce program or operations management strongly preferred.
· Experience with implementing warehouse automation preferred.
· Excellent data and business analysis skills – providing data driven results.
· Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing operational improvements.
· Exceptional problem-solving skills.
· Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
· Work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Working within or building a document management system.
· Work professionally with customers and co-workers to efficiently serve our customers, treating both with enthusiasm and respect.
· Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers.
· Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries.
