The Role The Manager of External Affairs will contribute to success in philanthropic fundraising and brand awareness through detail-oriented and strategic maintenance of data and operations, supporting the Massachusetts External Affairs team’s systems, events, internal and external communications, and operational activity. You will do this by: + Managing the systems for cultivating and soliciting donor relationships, including outreach planning and calendaring, and prospect research (40% of role) + Managing the fundraising team’s development operations, including gift entry and acknowledgment, contact database management, grant and reports support, list management, and basic data reporting (30% of role) + Supporting brand awareness efforts, including external events logistics and management, mass communication and marketing efforts, and public relations efforts. This can include positions held as a student or as a volunteer. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Detail orientation, eg : ability to catch small details in written pieces, ensure accuracy of data sets, ability to troubleshoot reports, etc. + Experience with a CRM such as Salesforce or Raisers’ Edge ( Preferred ) + Experience with Google suite of products ( Preferred ) + Lived experience of the Fellows we serve (Preferred) Role Requirements: + This role is largely remote, but will require an approximate average 15%-20% of time in our Roxbury-based office or traveling to meetings within Massachusetts.
