Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis – Senior Living

Job Summary:
The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic growth of the company’s senior living communities. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities. Working closely with the senior management team, this position will provide insightful financial analysis to support data-driven decision-making, operational improvements, and financial performance optimization for our senior living facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting and Forecasting:Lead the development, coordination, and implementation of annual budgets and multi-year forecasts for all senior living communities.Collaborate with department heads and site managers to develop accurate financial forecasts, taking into consideration trends, occupancy levels, labor costs, and other variables.Update forecasts on a regular basis, reflecting current business and economic conditions.Financial Analysis and Reporting:Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting variances and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.Conduct financial analysis to identify opportunities for improving profitability, operational efficiencies, and cost control at the corporate and community levels.Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and business planning.Strategic Business Partnering:Partner with Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, and other departments to provide financial insights and guide decision-making.Analyze and monitor key operational metrics, including occupancy rates, staffing costs, resident care expenses, and other key drivers of financial performance.Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance monitoring.Process Improvement and Systems Optimization:Lead initiatives to streamline and improve financial processes, tools, and reporting systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting speed.Implement best practices in FP&A and contribute to the development of a centralized reporting system that provides real-time insights to senior leadership.Collaborate with IT and other teams to optimize financial systems and ensure data integrity and accuracy.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 2 years in a managerial role; experience in the healthcare, senior living, or real estate industry is highly preferred.Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel, and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, or SAP) and financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights or Hyperion).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.Key Competencies:
